from seattle to queen charlottes island

so many pix...sash hope you are happy now... this is the record of the trip...starting at portland here is vivky my brother having his morning tea... i take a bus to seattle,

i make suzie try on some of my clothes which i give her to add colour in her life... here she is with the fabindia skirt and my shawl.....cooking something

fron seatle we go to vancouver...am so tired there take no pictures ... we go and meet our reedie freind who runs a company for developing interactivity onto websites.... and from vancouver we take a bus then a ferry to naneimo port a 3 hour ferry ride


a bus for 10 hours and we are in port hardy where we stay at a bed and breakfast run by this italian woman...here she is with our breakfast



this is the ferry we will be on for 15 hours.... its 7 stories high.... water water water... we see a few whales far in the distance...see the water spouting off the whales and also their tails as they jump out of the water but it is very very far away

this is farrow, a girl 20 who is studying anthropology at university of british columbia...she has these fascinating books and articles questioning the notion and concepts used in development studies

we reached port hardy at 1030 at tnite spent nite at lodge and next morning boarded yet another ferry for a 8 hour ride to skidgate...on queen charlotte island, the land of the haidas.me on the ferry

eating at the ferry... the group is of a phd student tom and his research assistants...he is studying why the cedar trees are dying in this area.they take samples of the trees by boring holes into them and then comparing the growth by looking at the tree rings

finally after 3 nites and 4 days of travel we are with doug and kayoko...both were at reed when we were, they dropped out in 1968.... and have been living here for the past 30 years
